Job Overview
Our client, a leading HR & Labour Law consultancy, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper / Admin assistant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily bookkeeping functions including cashbook, journals, and reconciliations
  • Perform insurance schedule reconciliations
  • Assist with invoicing and ensure accuracy against sales reports
  • Support debtor and creditor functions
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank, and supplier accounts
  • Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Prepare creditor payments for Finance Manager approval
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls
  • Liaise with banks and third-party service providers
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations
  • Process payroll (PaySpace experience advantageous)
  • Allocate and reconcile credit card expenses and travel costs
  • Assist with billing supplier invoices to clients
  • Provide financial and administrative support to senior management
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes
  • Conduct cost control and obtain comparative supplier quotes
  • Assist with basic IT-related queries

Requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a MUST
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficient in accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, SimplePay, PaySpace)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with VAT, PAYE, UIF, and COIDA
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

A Labour consulting firm is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Labour Support Specialist to join our dynamic Industrial Relations team. This is a senior-level legal support role suited to a labour law professional with exceptional drafting ability, deep legislative knowledge, and strong organisational skills.

The successful candidate will serve as the drafting and advisory backbone of the practice, providing comprehensive legal and administrative support to Labour Attorneys, Legal Advisors, and IR Consultants attending hearings, arbitrations, court proceedings, and client consultations.

Minimum Requirements

  • LLB Degree (essential)
  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa (essential)
  • LLM in Labour Law or related postgraduate qualification advantageous
  • 5–8 years post-admission experience in labour and employment law
  • Proven experience in:
    • CCMA and bargaining council litigation
    • Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court matters
    • Arbitration and dispute resolution
    • Section 189 / 189A retrenchment processes
    • Corporate employment law advisory
  • Knowledge of Immigration Act compliance and foreign national employment
  • Experience working with Court Online / Caselines electronic filing systems
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, mediation, and advocacy skills

  • Manage disputes relating to:
    • Unfair dismissals
    • Automatically unfair dismissals
    • Unfair labour practices
    • Constructive dismissals
    • Organisational rights disputes
    • Strike-related matters
  • Draft pleadings, legal opinions, heads of argument, and settlement agreements

Collective Labour Relations

  • Lead retrenchment consultation processes under Sections 189 and 189A
  • Advise on collective bargaining and industrial relations strategies
  • Handle protected and unprotected strike action matters
  • Advise on lockouts, picketing rules, and union recognition agreements

Employment Law Advisory & Compliance

  • Draft and review employment contracts and workplace policies
  • Conduct employment law compliance audits
  • Advise clients on POPIA, OHSA, COIDA, UIF, and related legislation
  • Provide strategic legal guidance aligned with evolving labour legislation and case law

Leadership & Client Management

  • Manage a portfolio of high-level labour matters independently
  • Mentor junior legal advisors and IR consultants
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Contribute to business development and practice growth

About the Role

An established and growing business is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Accountant & Business Administrator to join their team.

This is not a traditional accounting role. We are looking for a hands-on professional who can manage the full accounting function while also overseeing key administrative and operational responsibilities across multiple entities.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, liaising with various stakeholders, and ensuring that both financial and administrative processes are completed accurately and timeously.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

  • Process daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Perform bank, debtor, creditor, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Manage the accounting function through to Trial Balance.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts.
  • Process supplier payments and monitor cash flow.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Support year-end audit requirements and statutory compliance.

Administration & Operations

  • Liaise with suppliers, debtors, tenants, service providers, and contractors.
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and operational requirements.
  • Manage follow-ups on outstanding matters and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain contracts, records, and administrative documentation.
  • Assist with CIPC submissions and corporate governance requirements.
  • Support the day-to-day administration and smooth operation of multiple business entities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant Accounting Qualification (Degree, Diploma, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full-function accounting role.
  • Proven experience processing accounts through to Trial Balance.
  • Experience preparing management accounts.
  • Strong understanding of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience working with multiple entities would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities.

Advantageous Experience

  • Exposure to CIPC compliance and company secretarial functions.
  • Experience in property, facilities, tenant, or operational administration.
  • Experience coordinating suppliers, maintenance providers, and service contractors.
