CORE FUNCTIONS: ● Establish & maintain a safe work environment ● Review existing procurement procedures and suggest amendments. OVERALL PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION In broad terms the Environmental Manager will be required to coordinate the management of environmental performance. The following are some of the key functions:  Maintain a stringent environmental performance management reporting program in order to accurately and timeously provide data to all relevant agencies and interested parties. This with the input of the Technical Services, Production Engineering and Operations Departments. ● Carry out gap analysis and interim continuous improvement audits to comply with relevant legislation. ● Ensure coordination, liaison, and communication with the Technical Services, Commercial, and Operations Managers to provide a seamless and professional service to all stakeholders. Engineering  Ensure risk assessments conducted to identify potential hazards related to mechanical equipment and operations.  Implement control measures when engineering changes are made.  Keep technical records required by standard engineering practice or legal and other requirements.  Ensure that machinery is designed and fabricated according to standard engineering practice, implementing engineering controls to ensure the safe operation of machinery, and determining root causes of failures. 3. Ensure the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of maintenance, electrical systems and equipment are compliant with safety requirements.  Ensure regular inspections and testing of mechanical systems are done to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.  Ensure safety policies and procedures are in place related to mechanical and electrical engineering. 5.
