Senior C&I (Control & Instrumentation) Technician

Location: Gauteng – Kempton Park

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Technician to join a leading power generation and industrial operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of instrumentation and control systems across the plant while ensuring maximum plant availability, operational efficiency, and compliance with all safety standards.

This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys fault-finding, mentoring junior technicians, and working within a high-performance industrial environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Qualified Instrumentation Technician (Trade Tested)
  • National Diploma (or equivalent) in Control & Instrumentation
  • Minimum 7 years’ post-trade experience in a fossil fuel power station or heavy industrial plant
  • Strong analytical and fault-finding skills
  • Experience using calibration and testing equipment
  • Knowledge of plant safety regulations and Permit to Work systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings
  • Computer literacy:
    • MS Outlook

    • MS Excel

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain instrumentation and control systems throughout the plant
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, calibration and maintenance of instrumentation
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and instrumentation faults
  • Ensure all instrumentation operates safely and efficiently
  • Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance
  • Support planned maintenance shutdowns and plant outages
  • Assist with developing maintenance procedures and work scopes
  • Contribute to plant improvement and optimisation initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to C&I Technicians
  • Assist with the implementation of new instrumentation technologies
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and permit systems
  • Report defects, unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions
  • Promote high housekeeping and maintenance standards

Junior Legal Advisor and Company Secretary

As a Junior Legal Advisor and Company Secretary you will be required to provide administrative and legal support within the organisation, often working closely with external Legal Advisors, the Management Team and the Board of Directors (“The Board”). This role requires a combination of legal knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks re related to legal documentation, research and corporate governance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

●Degree in Law, Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
●Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa/Chartered Governance Institute of South Africa (CSSA/CGISA) Qualification
●Computer Literacy: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Accpac or similar
●Must be registered with the Legal Practice Council

  • 5 years’ post-admission experience as a legal practitioner with commercial and corporate law experience will be preferred
  • Previous experience in a legal position or support role is required
  • Experience with some legal software and databases will be beneficial
  • Legal Knowledge: A good understanding of the Law and Legal Procedures, and in particular, commercial and corporate law principles
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting documents, corresponding with stakeholders,
  • and interacting with colleagues and the Board.
  • Attention to detail: Accuracy and meticulousness in handling legal documents and information

Core functions: 

  • Providing secretarial and governance support to the Board and Management, including convening of Shareholders and Board meetings;
  • Attending meetings, taking minutes and giving guidance and advice where required
  • Ensuring that Shareholder and Board decisions are carried through by relevant parties
  • Preparing Shareholder’s and Board resolutions where required.
  • Assisting with legal research, gathering information, and preparing summaries of legal precedents and statutes applicable to the organisation
  • Drafting, and reviewing legal agreements and correspondence, including co-ordinating with external Legal Advisors
  • Monitoring and Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including providing Management and the Board with ongoing updates on changes in Legislation affecting the organisation.

 

Salary: R50 000 – R80 000 per month.
