IT Manager 2

● Essential to have the ability to work flexibly across several dynamic teams within the organization
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 5+ years of experience in a technology role, ideally within the financial services sector.
 MCSE or minimum MCSA with minimum of 1 year experience in supporting Micro Soft Servers,
Database administration, Active Directory and MS Remote Desktop Services.
 Desktop support experience on both hardware and software.
 Basic knowledge on networking with CAT 5 and wireless networks – setting up AP’s etc
 At least 1 years working experience with recent versions of Accpac application an advantage
 Experience in providing quality user support in both face to face and telephone environments
 Knowledge of project planning and access control / payroll interface would be an advantage.
 A basic knowledge of F-Secure Antivirus Software, and VIP would also be advantageous

CORE FUNCTIONS
 Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring all systems, networks, and
infrastructure function efficiently.
 Develop and implement IT policies and best practices to safeguard data and maintain compliance
with industry standards.
 Manage IT budgets, procurement, and contracts, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource
allocation.
 Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative
work environment.
 Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement technology solutions that improve
business processes and productivity.
 Ensure the security of the company’s IT infrastructure, protecting against cyber threats and data
breaches.
 Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for IT-related services and support.
 Plan and manage IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
 Monitor and assess the performance of IT systems, making recommendations for improvements.
 Support a network of approx 170 users with various forms of desktop hardware and software
support
 Preparation of IT-related Purchase Requisitions and Orders
 Provide hardware repair services to all IT equipment including liaising with 3rd party service
providers to ensure timeous repairs of hardware IT equipment
 Manage and maintain all software licenses.
 Monitor the performance of the application at server and database level to ensure high availability
 Support internal & external PC users with all aspects of using the application, arranging for
timeous 3rd Party assistance when unable to deal with a problem
 Resolve issues at an application & database level to maintain efficient running of Accpac in the
organization
 Ensure that all reported faults are tracked to establish trends for specific equipment, fault types
and user performance
 Work with software suppliers to resolve technical issues and maintain current knowledge of basic
product developments for all software utilised at the company -Perform periodic data integrity tests
in a number of application areas
 Maintain close working relationship with leaders to ensure necessary services and support
is provided for the business
 Provide a prompt and efficient service when requested for information
 Ensure that software registers are kept up to date
 Make recommendations to management regarding replacement of equipment and assist in the
process
 Provide management with regular formal and informal feedback
 Actively participate and encourage good housekeeping, teamwork and upholding of superior
standards and general maintenance in your plant
 Develop basic knowledge of Power Plant operation and the generation of electricity
