Senior Building Services Engineer – Mechanical and Public Health

ROLE – SENIOR BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEER (Mechanical and Public Health).

• Design and specification of mechanical engineering solutions for buildings, to current regulations and design standards. Leading management of tasks and people on projects.

DUTIES

• Work directly with clients to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.

• Lead a project design team to provide solutions for clients.

• Lead pre-construction engineering activities including coordination of services and production of information (tender drawings, specifications and equipment details).

• Lead management of projects during construction including site inspections, technical submittals and RFI’s.

  • Mentor junior staff.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong technical ability and good understanding of current engineering standards (Building Regulations, CIBSE Codes, IS/EN Standards).

• 3 – 7  years experience in the design and specification of mechanical / building services systems (drainage, water services, heating, cooling, ventilation and BMS).

• Experience of client, vendor and contractor interaction.

• Good communication skills and ability to lead an engineering team.

• Third level degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and IES (not essential).

• Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Chartered Engineer or approaching same.

Senior Drainage Engineer (Civil Design)

We are seeking a Civil Engineer who specialises in the design of sustainable drainage systems, wastewater networks, water distribution systems, hydrological studies and flood risk management. We are looking for candidates with experience of drainage design in Europe, UK or Ireland.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years relevant experience in a design environment.
  • Experience designing drainage systems knowledge of the IW Codes of Practice, CIRIA C753 and the GDSDS.
  • Experience assessing Flood Risk in accordance with The Planning System and Flood Risk as per the OPW.
  • A recognised Bachelor of Engineering Degree (FETAC Level 8)
  • Be progressing toward Chartership Status.
  • Be proficient in the use of Causeway Flow , Micro Drainage, AutoDesk, Civil 3D or equivalent.
  • The ability to communicate design intent and philosophy to team members and non-technical interested parties.
  • Experience leading projects from inception through the design process.
  • Familiarity with Irish planning processes.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Have experience in Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Alleviation Schemes.
  • Strong knowledge of Sustainable Drainage Systems and best practice.
  • Experience with Clients on the sequential approach to undertaking a justification test in an SSFRA.
  • A strong ability in the use and manipulation of GIS information.
  • Experience in Culvert Sizing and hydraulic modelling.
  • Procurement, tender assessment, and supervision experience.
  • Knowledge of Revit, or similar BIM packages.

Senior Design Engineer (Civil – Roads & Drainage)

We have a position available for a Civil Design Engineer (Remote). Position is for a company located in Ireland and you will be working on projects in Ireland. You can be located anywhere in SA. Relocation to Ireland also an option should you wish to relocate but this is not mandatory.

ROLE:

Manage projects through conception, planning and detailed design

ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

• Lead geometric and alignment road design.

• Lead drainage design.

• Report writing.

• Causeway flow, Site3D, Civil3D or equivalent

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer registered with ECSA or in the process of registering in the next 12 months – non negotiable (Professional Engineering Technologists will not be considered) 

• 5+ years relevant experience in the areas of roads, drainage & active travel.

• Presentation skills.

• Be proactive in dealing with team members and external parties.

• Fluency in English

Salary R60k – R90k per month (remote).
